Smiley Corporation is developing office cafes where customers can enjoy delicious additive-free foods at their offices under the slogan, “Delicious health support for the office. The business develops and manufactures additive-free prepared foods and snacks for offices, and provides users with entire storage facilities.
We interviewed Mr. Masaomi Goto, Director of Product Development.
Our concept is delicious, additive-free food, so freezing is essential for preservation. We also wanted to solve the problem of reproducing the delicious, freshly prepared taste of prepared foods in frozen form, which is why we introduced frozen sleep. All of the company’s frozen prepared foods are developed so that they can be easily heated in a microwave and eaten immediately. The lineup includes RICE BAR, an advanced version of rice balls, Kenchin Jiru, Kiriboshi Daikon, Meat and Potatoes, Kinpira, and other products that are hard to believe are frozen.
The onigiri is also made into a bar type and processed by freezing using the characteristics of frozen sleep. We call it ‘Mach freezing’, and it freezes so quickly that production efficiency has improved dramatically. Business is booming, and the system is being installed in large offices.
The machine is also compact and easy to maintain. I would like to consider further product development that takes advantage of this frozen sleep feature”. Mr. Goto is enthusiastic about developing new products.
